About Hugi Rafn Stefansson.

Hugi Rafn Stefansson, the owner of Creative Mold Work, is a highly skilled and accomplished chef with a diverse culinary background. His journey in the culinary world began as a chef apprentice at Hilton Nordica Hotel Reykjavik, where he gained valuable experience before venturing into various prestigious roles.

In 2020-2021, Hugi worked as a Chef de Partie at the Michelin Star Restaurant Speilsalen in Trondheim, Norway, under the guidance of Christopher Davidsen. Following this, he collaborated with Chef Viktor Örn Andreasson at Lux Veitingar, achieving 3rd place in the Bocuse d'Or World in 2017. Hugi continued his culinary pursuits as a commis chef at Bocuse d'Or Europe in 2021, ending in 5th place.

Hugi's dedication to culinary competitions is noteworthy, as he contributed as a chef assistant to the Icelandic Culinary Team's gold-winning performance in the World Cup for the hot plate in Luxembourg in 2022. His participation extends to being a member of Iceland Culinary, culminating in competing at the Culinary Olympics in 2024.

Hugi Rafn Stefansson's commitment to culinary excellence is exemplified through his extensive involvement with the Icelandic Culinary Team, where he played a pivotal role in securing two gold medals at the Culinary Olympics 2024—one for Chef's Table and another for Restaurant of Nations. Furthermore, their exceptional performance led to winning the Olympic bronze medal overall.

Throughout his career, Hugi has earned several accolades, such as the Presidents of Iceland Award for the best-graduating chef in 2021, 5th place in Iceland Chef of the Year in 2022, and a notable 4th place as Chef of the Year in 2023. His expertise also extends to dessert preparation, where he secured 2nd place in the Desert Chef of the Year competition in 2023
